Clifton-Clyde High School, created in 1981 when the high schools in Clifton and Clyde merged, is a 2A high school with 120 students in grades 9-12. CCHS offers football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, and track. Activities offered at CCHS include KAYS, FBLA, FFA, NHS, student council, scholars' bowl, forensics, yearbook, and cheerleading.
The 2007-2008 school year was very successful for the Eagles. CCHS received Standards of Excellence in 2007 for 11th grade reading, 10th grade math, and as a building overall. The Eagle football team was the Twin Valley League 8-Man Champion and progressed through the post season winning the district, the bi-district, the regional. In February, the CCHS Scholars' Bowl team became 2A State Champions, the girls' cross country team, the scholars' bowl team, and the forensics squad were all TVL champions, KAYS earned the gold award, and FBLA placed first in the District IV competition. In addition to those successes, The Knowledge Master Team placed first in the nation for schools whose enrollment is 200 or less, and US News and World Report gave CCHS a bronze award--one of 39 schools in the state of Kansas to be so honored.
Starting in 2006-2007, CCHS students were given the opportunity to take concurrent enrollment classes through Cloud County Community College. On the average, 35% of CCHS students complete the Regents' recommended curriculum, and 80% continue on to post-secondary education.
