Eagles Fourth at Belleville Invitational

The Clifton-Clyde Eagle volleyball team went to Belleville
Saturday, Sept. 15, and ended up with another 4th place medal.
At 10:00, the Lady Eagles won their first game against
Republic County 25-22, 25-27, and 25-20. The
Ladies played really well serving 99% and having 23 kills, 22
setting assists, and 5 kill blocks.
Their next game against Smith Center started immediately. The
Eagles lost to the number one seeded team in 3 close games:
22-25, 25-15 and 25-27. The Eagles played well serving 98%,
with 18 kills, 15 set assists. and 9 kill blocks.
After sitting out two matches, they played Rock Hills. They
won this match easily 25-13 and 25-8 serving 98%, and having 14
kills, 9 set assists, and 4 kill blocks.
Since they went 2-1and finished second in their pool, the Eagles'
next match was against Linn.The Linn match didn't turn out the way
the Eagles would have liked. They lost 9-25 and 17-25. They
had 100% serving with only 3 kills, 2 set assists, and 4 kill
blocks.
After this loss, the Lady Eagles played for 3rd place against
Beloit. These match was very close also. The Eagles
won the first game 27-25, but lost the second and third games 28-30
and 14-25. With 89% serving, 14 kills,12 set assists,
and 7 kill blocks, the Eagles ended the tournament with
a 4th place finish.
The Lady Eagle volleyball season totals as of 9/15/07 is 96%
serving, 329 kills (104 from Molly Potuzak, 53 from Keely Kieffer,
44 from Allie Bloomfield, 24 from Blair Bloomfield, 2 from Jamie
Long and 1 each from Devin Cornwell and Katie George)
184 setting assists. (Jamie Long has 132 and Katie George
has 29) and 75 kill blocks (Molly Potuzak with 42, Keely
Kieffer with 12, Allie Bloomfield with 11, and Blair
Bloomfield with 10).
The Eagles' TVL record is 3-4 and overall record is 7-11.
