CCHS Girls go 1 and 2 in Washington Tournament

by Ken McClanahan

The CCHC girls Basketball team went one and two in the Washington Tournament played November 29th, 30th, and December 1st.    The Eagles started well with a victory over the Pike Valley Panthers 60-55 on Thursday night at the CCHS gym.  The Eagles were led in scoring by Allie Bloomfield with 23 points followed by Blair Bloomfield with 12 and Jamie Long with 10. Keely Kieffer was the leading rebounder with 7 and Jamie Long contributed with 4 steals to help the Eagles to a victory.

The Eagles played the State Ranked Blue Valley Rams on Friday and came away on the losing end 59-39.  The Rams speed was just to much for a tired Eagles team.  Allie Bloomfield was the only Eagle in double figures with 18 points.  She was also the leading rebounder with 8.

The Eagles finished the weekend on short rest by playing the tournament host Washington.  The Eagles shot themselves out of the game early by failing to convert to many easy opportunities in the opening half forcing them to play catchup the whole game.  The Tigers from Washington prevailed in a sloppy game 40-33.  Leading scorers for the Eagles were Jancee Hobbs with 11 and Allie and Blair Bloomfield with 8 points apiece.  Keely Kieffer led in rebounding with 12 followed by Allie Bloomfield with 11.
