CCHS Girls defeat Unbeaten Bern
by Ken McClanahan
After a two week break caused by the weather, the CCHS Girls BB team took on and defeated a previously unbeaten team from Bern 29-25. The Eagles took a quick 10-1 lead at the end of the 1st quarter only to see foul trouble plague them the rest of the half. The bench for the Eagles were able to hold on, but a determined Bern squad tied the score at half-time 10-10.
Things picked up at half as the Eagles outscored the Indians 19-15 in the second half to come away with a league victory. The Eagles were led in scoring by Allie Bloomfield who netted 12 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the field as well as adding 4 freethrows to seal the victory. Jamie Longs 3 points and Blair Bloomfields 2 point rounded out the scoring.
