CCHS Girls go 1 and 1 on the Weekend
by Ken McClanahan
The CCHS Girls BB team went 1 and 1 this past week losing to a State Ranked Centralia team 60-31 and then beating Wetmore 42-13.
The Eagles had a very rough time dealing with the athletes on a very good Centralia BB team. Hitting from all areas on the court the Eagles struggled to keep up. Allie Bloomfield's 8 points led the Eagles, followed by Blair Bloomfield with 7 points. Kelly Kieffer contributed 7 rebounds and Allie Bloomfield 4 steals to the cause.
After traveling to Centralia on Friday, the Eagles boarded the bus and headed to Wetmore on Saturday for a make-up game with Wetmore. The long bus ride contributed to a slow start and a 18-2 Eagle lead at half time. Picking it up in the 3rd quarter the Eagle outscored the Cardinals 17-4 on their way to a 29 point victory. Leading scorers for the Eagles were Allie Bloomfield with 13, Blair Bloomfield with 8, Kelly Kieffer and Jamie Long 6 points, Jancee Hobbs 4 points, Kenzie George and Megan Kramer 2 points, and Alyssa Kieffer with 1 point. Keely Kieffer and Allie Bloomfield led the team in rebounding with 8 and 6 respectively.
