College Information:

           

Bethany College       

            Bethany College is now offering a scholarship opportunity for students referred to the college by its greatest champions:  Bethany alumni.  The Alumni Referral Scholarship will be awarded to students who:

ü      Are initially referred to the college by a Bethany alumnus or alumna – Mrs. Tina Savage is one

ü      Meet Bethany’s admissions standards and

ü      Complete Bethany’s application for admission by February 15.

Students who are awarded the scholarship will receive $2,000 over 4 years as a part of their financial aid package.

K-State Salina

            ELITE (Enhancing Lives Through Technology and Engineering), a National Science Foundation scholarship grant program, is offering 15-25 annual scholarships for academically talented students.  Eligibility includes meeting one of the following:

        First generation college student (or)

        Come from a rural area (CCHS is) (or)

        Economically disadvantaged (or)

        Member of a minority group.

        Must demonstrate financial need and complete the FAFSA form.

Students must seek an Engineering Technology degree in:

Ø      Computer Systems Technology

Ø      Construction Engineering Technology

Ø      Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology

Ø      Mechanical Engineering Technology

Ø      Web Development Technology

Scholarship Information:

 

Vocational Education Scholarship is designed for full-time students who enroll in designated 1- or 2-year vocational programs.  Only certificate and selected 2-year programs are included among the designated technical programs. 

Registration and testing for this scholarship is processed by the Testing Center at Kansas State University.  To register, complete both sides of the form and mail it with the $10.00 exam fee by February 4, 2008.

The exam is held at 17 locations in Kansas on March 1st from 8:00 – 11:30.  Registration forms are in Mrs. Newell’s office.

 

Best Buy Scholarships reward students for their hard work inside and outside of the classroom.  If you have good grades and outstanding community service projects, apply at www.bestbuy.com/scholarships.  Deadline to apply is February 15, 2008.

 

SAMMY 2008 (the “got milk” and Milk Mustache folks) have announced the 11th annual “Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year” 2008 Award Program.  Judging of the nominees is based on 5 criteria:

1.      35% academic performance

2.      35% athletic excellence

3.      15% leadership

4.      10% community service

5.      5% milk experience. 

Applications will only be accepted online at www.bodybymilk.com.  Application

deadline is March 7, 2008.

 

Kansas Golf Foundation  will award 5 scholarships for 2008-2009.  This is an academic scholarship, but in order to be eligible, a student must have participated in junior golf activities, including high school golf.  Scholarships are awarded to graduating Kansas high school seniors based on academic performance, leadership, a written essay and financial need.  The grant is $1,250 per year, renewable for up to 4 years.  Recipients must attend a Kansas college or university, including community colleges.

            Concordia Area Elks Scholarships are available for college bound students who have a gpa of 3.0, or 2.5 for vo-tech applicants.  This scholarship is not associated with the Elks National Foundation Program, and membership is not required.  Completed applications must be received by April 15, 2008.  Forms are in Mrs. Newell’s office.

 

The Kansas Environmental Health Association is offering the Bill Spaniol Memorial Scholarship.  Scholarship information can be found on the KEHA website at www.e-keha.org under scholarship. 

            The purpose of this scholarship is to promote Kansas Environmental Health Association as a professional organization and encourage individuals to pursue a degree in environmental science or related area.  One scholarship in amount of $500 will be awarded to qualifying students.

            Eligibility requirements are:

1.      must attend a Kansas college or university

2.      maintain an overall gpa of 3.0, with a gpa in their major field of study of 3.2 at the time of application

3.      student shows an interest in the Biological or Physical Sciences.

Application with personal inventory form, transcript, 2 letters of recommendation

and a letter describing the student’s proposed program of study must be submitted by May 31, 2008.
