KAY To Host Unit Conference
by Jamie Long & Michelle George
Clifton-Clyde KAY’s Club will be hosting the KAY Unit Conference on February 12th from 8 am to 11:30 am at Clifton-Clyde High School. The theme for this year’s conference is “Hooked on Leadership”. The KAY Unit Conference is designed to focus on club leadership and gives students the opportunity to share project and program ideas. The KAY Unit Conference also helps students develop leadership skills. Thirteen schools from the area have been invited to attend. We will have speakers from the area that will discuss the importance of volunteer participation in service projects such as the Buddy Walk and Help Us Learn, Give Us Hope. All delegates in attendance will be working on a service project to benefit the children at Children’s Mercy Hospital Hematology and Oncology by making Valentine’s Day cards in honor of Blade Winter. The KAY Club at Clifton-Clyde High School has 41 members that will be participating in the activities of the day as well as assist with the conference.
