KASB and the USD 224 BOE Conduct Goal Setting Workshop
By Brian Pekarek
On Monday, July 13th, the USD
224 School Board conducted a Goal Setting Session with Max
Heim of Kansas Association of School Boards. The purpose of
the meeting was to define the goals/ vision of our school
district, and define the expectations/duties of the board and
the superintendent as they relate to their responsibilities to
the district. We came to these expectations by reaching
a consensus about both the positive things that are happening
in the district, as well as the concerns in the district.
From the meeting, we also created an evaluation form for the
superintendent. This form will be used by the board to
evaluate the superintendent during the fall and spring
semester from time to time.
On August 17th, (the first day
of in-service for certified staff) the certified staff will also
get a chance to provide their input about the positive things to
the district, as well as the things that need to be
changed/improved. From here, the district
will create a framework for improvements in the district,
establish responsibilities, and create a timetable for
changes.
If you have any concerns or questions
regarding this process, you are free to contact me
anytime.

These will be shared with the school board before the budget workshop. Thank you. | Brian Pekarek bpekarek@usd224.com Clifton-Clyde Superintendent of USD 224 |
