SER Corporation
This is a private, non-profit organization funded by the U.S.
Department of Labor to help seasonal farmworkers obtain full-time,
year-round employment. That goal may be accomplished by on-the-job
training, work experience, or classroom training. Classroom
training includes obtaining educational skills at a vocational or

Wendy’s High School Heisman
This award honors male and female high school students who excel in
academics, athletics & student leadership. Senior student
athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and have become role models
for underclassmen are eligible to apply. Eligibility criteria
include a “B” grade average and participation in at least 1
school-sponsored event. Completed applications are due by October

Elks National Foundation Scholarships:
The Most Valuable Student scholarship is for students who are near
the top of their class; active in school & community
activities; recognized as leaders by their peers; and need
financial assistance to attend college. Any high school senior who
is a U.S. citizen is eligible to apply. Applications must be
submitted no later then November 2nd to Patricia Halstead, Chair,
Scholarship Committee, 703 Prospect Street, Clay Center, KS 67432
or Elks Lodge #2254 611 5th Street, Clay Center, KS 67432.
The Legacy Awards scholarship program is for children and
grandchildren of active Elks members. Seniors who plan to go to
college and exhibit the values of the Elks National Foundation
(knowledge, charity, community & integrity) are encouraged to
apply. Applications must be submitted on or before January 8,
2010.
The Emergency Educational Grant program provides financial
assistance to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks, who
wish to obtain or further their college education. Grants range up
to $4,000 for one year only. Applications must be submitted to the
local Elks Lodge in Clay Center between July 1 and December 30 for
new applications.
