VanCampen-Potuzak Win at Marysville

Clifton-Clyde Cross-Country Team traveled to Marysville to open their season. They competed very well for their first meet. For four runners it was their first experience at cross-country. Due to scheduling conflicts, the girls didn’t have enough runners to score as a team. Three girls participated in the meet – Karly VanCampen won the girls’ race with a time of 16:57. Kenzie George was the second Eagle to finish. She finished 5th with a time of 18:10. Caitlin Charbonneau, running in her first meet, finished 35th in a time of 23:09. The girls race is 4000 meters. The boys’ race, which is 5000 meters, followed the girls’ and the Eagles had another top finish with Alex Potuzak topping all competitors with a time of 17:41. Freshman Alex Deaver finished 8th in 18:57, Trevor Barnes 38th in 21:42, Dalton Porter 41st in 22:20, Drew Deaver 42nd in 22:29, Grant Rogers 54th in 24:00, Jordan Breeding 58th in 24:47 and Mitchell Long 60th in 24:56. Trevor Barnes, running in his 4th year, had a personal best on a very challenging course. Jordan Breeding has also shown much improvement over last year. The Eagle boys finished third as a team. Omaha South won the meet with 28 points, Washington 54 points and Clifton-Clyde with 104
