K-State’s Shadow Day
Tuesday, October 13th is just for ladies!! This is your chance to see what a typical day at college is like for a female science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) student. You will go to class with a mentor, explore campus life, have lunch and attend a closing session where a panel of students will answer your questions about life as a college students.
This event is intended for girls currently in the 10th, 11th, & 12th grades. You may attend on your own, or take a group of friends.

SWE Weekend of Engineering is a camp for high school girls that blends fun educational activities and a glimpse of the KU college experience.
As a Weekend of Engineering camper, you will attend demonstrations and presentations by KU engineering professors, visit engineering labs on campus, learn about career and study opportunities in engineering, interact with KU engineering women who will work with you during the weekend as counselors, and work in teams on a fun engineering project.
The cost for the camp is $95 and includes all costs – hotel, meals and activities. To participate send in the registration by November 2, 2009 or February 22, 2010 for the weekends of November 14 – 15 & March 6 – 7. Registration forms are in the counselor’s office.
KansasState University
“Just for Juniors” is an opportunity for juniors and their parents. The program encourages students to think about college and how it will differ from high school. During the program, students learn about making the transition from high school to college life, and K-State students are available to answer questions and offer advice. One activity involves building a college schedule and discussion on time management and involvement on campus.
