Go EAGLES!!
We are off to a great start...
by Cheryl Keim
We are anticipating a very successful school year, with students and staff already settled into the daily schedule. As of September 22, our enrollment at Clifton-Clyde High School was 107. These numbers reflect a decrease of enrollment due in part to the freshman class being smaller than the graduating class of 2008.
CCHS is proud to announce new staff members for the 2008-2009 school year. Barbara Hubert is teaching Spanish and College Spanish. Terry Zuelow is teaching Instrumental Band and Vocal Music. Welcome to Clifton-Clyde High School.
Clifton-Clyde High School has once again scored above the mark on assessments and made AYP (Annual Yearly Progress). In a collaborative effort, we will be working hard to improve on last year's scores as the bar is raised for this school year. During the October 6th in-service, CCHS will be updating the building level School Improvement Plan, using last year's assessment data, to assist in identifying academic areas of concern. The SIP will then be used by the staff in support of assessing curriculum planning for this year's test cycle. In addition to the annual math and reading assessment, the state is also requiring that our students take writing assessments this year. We will be posting more information on the testing window and other pertinent information to parents as these tests draw closer.
Just as a reminder every parent can access their child's current grade, missing homework, and attendance directly from PowerSchool. User name and password are available in the office.
Fall school sports and organizational activities are in full swing. I want to right off thank the community for their support during this school year. Football, volleyball and cross country are all working hard to continue the Eagle tradition in both sportsmanship and participation.
The faculty and staff have been working extremely hard to make this school year a successful one for our students and we anticipate this will be an outstanding year. Good luck to all those students involved in our school activities throughout the year!!
