Girls Win Meet

CCHS CROSS COUNTRY GIRLS WIN
The Eagles had an early morning run around Lake Centralia on Saturday, October 4. The wind was blowing a little, but the temperature was perfect. Karly VanCampen won the girls race with a record time of 16:05breaking the record she set last year by 30 seconds. Kenzie George finished second in 17:10. Ashley Seifert was the third Eagle to finish in 14th place in a time of 19:11; Blair Bloomfield was 18th in 19:52 and Alyssa Hubert running in her first race this year finished 19th with a time of 19:53. All 5 girls received medals for their individual finishes. Karly and Kenzie each receive a medal for being the first to finish in their class. The girls placed first as a team with 31 points, Wabaunsee was second with 36 and Johnson County North was third. The girls each received a medal for winning the meet.
The boys had seven runners participate in the meet. Alex Potuzak ran well finishing in 3rd place with a time of 18:16. Alex also received a medal for being the first junior to finish. Grant Rogers was the next Eagle to finish with a time of 23:16, Mitchell Long finished in 23:25, Cody Newell 23:30, Barrett Winter 23:42, Trevor Barnes 24:00 and Jordan Breeding 28:04.
