Girls Finish 7th at State

The girls competed at the State meet at Wamego on Saturday, November 1st. The race started with Karly VanCampen sprinting hard trying to get in the lead when several girls got tangled and fell to the ground. Karly got up quickly and kept running. She was able regain her composure and fight to get back the distance that she had lost. She ran hard the rest of the race and was able to finish in 4th place with a time of 16:13.91. Kenzie George also had a great performance finishing in 9th place. Alyssa Hubert finished the course in 18:24.48, Ashley Seifert 19:06.78, Blair Bloomfield 21:00.36, and Allie Bloomfield 24:13.76. This gave the Eagles 7th place just 5 points out of 5th.

Alex Potuzak was the only boy that qualified for State. He ran a good race and finished 36th in a time of 19:11.72.

With the warm weather and large hills everyone ran their hardest. Our athletes competed against the best runners in the state and need to be proud of the way they represented Clifton-Clyde. They gained valuable experience and are already making plans to work harder in order to do even better next year. We would all like to thank the parents and supporters who came to watch us run.
