Potuzak-VanCampen Win

Potuzak and VanCampen Win Again The Eagles’ cross-country team traveled to Washington to compete on September 10. The girls started the meet with a good performance. Karly VanCampen won for the second week in a row. She finished in 16:27. Kenzie George ran better this week knocking over a minute off last week’s time to finish in second with a time 16:53. Alyssa Hubert was the next Eagle to finish. She finished in 12th place in a time of 19:14. Ashley Seifert finished 27th in 20:25, Danielle Seifert 28th in 20:37, Caitlin Charbonneau 36th in 22:09, Bethany Branfort 38th in 22:31 and Morgan Feight 44th in 23:39. The girls earned second place medals as a team. Nemaha Valley won the meet with 40 points, CCHS tallied 54 and Washington was third with 60. In the boy’s race Washington’s Mark Mock challenged Alex Potuzak for the lead at the start of the race. Alex was in second until about half way through the race. He took the lead and never looked back. Alex won the meet in a time of 17:59. Trevor Barnes was the second Eagle to finish in 26th with a time of 22:23. Next for the Eagles were Mitchell Long 45th in 25:33, Grant Rogers 47th in 25:50 Jordan Breeding 54th in 26:46 and Lucas Branfort 58th in 27:14. The boys finished 5th as a team. The Eagles next meet will be September 17th at Onaga.
