Special Board of Education Meeting

Call to Order
Vice-President Ohlde called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
Approve Agenda
Motion made by Koch, seconded by Steinbrock to approve the agenda. Motion carried 6-0.
Board Member Arrives
Feight arrived at 7:45 p.m.
Approve Contract with McPherson & Jacobson, LLC
It was the consensus of the board to complete all five phases of the superintendent search. Motion
made by Ohlde, seconded by Long to approve the contract with McPherson & Jacobson, LLC for
$5,500 plus expenses to conduct the superintendent search for USD 224. Motion carried 7-0.
Superintendent Search Presentation
Von Lauer and Harold Shuler explained to the board how the superintendent search will be
conducted. They outlined each phase and set up a timeline for the application and interview process.
The board developed a list of things they would like to see in a new superintendent to be used as
guidelines in the selection process.
There will be staff/student/community meetings on April 18th, a special board meeting on May 31st and interviews will be the first week of June.
