Family Fun Night
Clifton-Clyde
Schools recently hosted an event for students, their families, and
the community that focused on making healthy choices. Over 400
attended the event, which included family-friendly physical
activities, nutrition lessons, and healthy snack. Participants
learned about water, calcium, food pyramid, healthy snacks, fat
content, reading food labels, GPS, tobacco prevention, and heart
rate monitors.
The Clifton and Clyde communities pulled together to support the
health of its students and their parents. Donations from Kansas
Coordinated School Health Grant, Kansas Department of Education
Family Fun, Food, & Fitness Grant, and Concordia Wal-Mart were
an integral part of the event’s success.
Several prizes were given away during the evening. Prizes included
nine bicycles, one scooter, twenty-six door prizes, and two
wellness gift bags. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a
success, especially the students and staff of USD 224, KAYS, and
TASK volunteers, donors, and the community.
