On Thursday, March 11th, Kansas Lt. Governor Troy Findley made a special trip to Clifton-Clyde High School in order to view the school's clean and renewable energy projects and meet with the students and staff. Recently, Clifton-Clyde High School was honored by being selected as the "2010 Kansas Green School of the Year" by Kansas Green Schools and the Kansas Association of Conservation and Environmental Education (KACEE). In addition to this, USD 224 was selected as the host site of the "2010 Kansas Green School Conference" on July 29-30, 2010. Clifton-Clyde High School has gained state recognition for their wind energy, solar energy, greenhouse projects, and biomass composting projects. During the visit, CCHS students gave two short presentations to the Lt. Governor and his staff, and then the students took the group around and saw the clean and renewable energy sites at Clifton-Clyde High School. In addition to this, the Lt. Governor met with as many students and staff as possible during his visit.
